A building which was badly damaged by fire 18 months ago has once again been overcome by flames.

Firefighters spent almost three hours battling a blaze at the old Station Master’s house, on Station Lane in Skelton.

Fire appliances from Saltburn, Redcar, Loftus and Guisborough were sent to the building just before 3 o'clok yesterday afternoon.

Fire crews left the scene at around ten to six, but the incident remains open as an investigation will be launched later today into the cause of the blaze.

 

A teenager has been arrested after a car was driven onto train tracks at Redcar .

The incident happened in the early hours of Saturday when an Audi A3 was ditched on train lines, understood to be close to West Dyke Road . 

Trains had to be temporarily halted so the vehicle could be recovered.

Cleveland Police has confirmed that a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving and theft charges in connection with the incident.

 

A busy junction in Redcar has had to have temporary lights installed whilst repairs to the gas supply take place.

Due to an emergency gas leak on Moore Street in Redcar, multi-way lights have been installed on the junction between Moore Street and the Esplanade.

The lights will be in place until Tuesday 25 September.
