Police are appealing for information after a number of items were stolen from Eston Cemetery.

The thefts occurred between Monday 20th August and Friday 24th August at the cemetery, which is bordered by Church Lane and Normanby Road.

Some of the stolen items include two 30cm high bears, grey in colour with blue noses and holding a stone heart with the name ‘Paul’ in the middle.

There were also two spray painted stone ornaments of sleeping cherubs which are silver in colour with a hint of blue that are reported as stolen.

Officers are conducting patrols in the area and would ask anyone with information regarding the stolen items or those responsible to contact PC Chris James on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Police have named a woman who was found dead at a property on Grange Road in Middlesbrough as Laura Harrison.

36-year-old Laura sadly died on Wednesday.

Specially trained officers are currently supporting her family.

In the early hours of yesterday morning, a 31-year-old man was charged with murder and he appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court yesterday.

Cleveland Police have made a voluntary referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct because of previous contact with parties involved in the incident.

The volunteers from the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team have been called into action in our area.

The North East Ambulance Service contacted the team just before 10pm on Thurday to assist one of their Ambulance crews.

A young male Mountain biker had come off his bike in Errington Woods near New Marske injuring himself.

The ambulance crew had located him approx 300m up a track in the woods, treated him and administered pain relief.

They needed assistance to transport him back to the waiting Ambulance.

12 team members responded in a team Land Rover, and the casualty was carried out to the Ambulance on our team stretcher.

The incident lasted around 1 hr.
