Officers continue to investigate a ram raid incident at Eston Leisure Centre in the early hours of Monday.

At around 1.45am on Monday a white van, which is suspected to have been stolen from nearby Redcar, was driven into the front doors of the building and abandoned.

Nothing was taken however the incident meant some of the leisure centre facilities were closed on the first day of the school holidays.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police via the non emergency number 101, or by calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

A man who was arrested following an alleged assault in Redcar has been released.

The 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault after an incident outside the Blue Lounge Bar on the High Street in Redcar.

The suspected assault was said to have happened at around 2.30am on Saturday.

However Cleveland Police have now confirmed that the arrested teenager has now been released.

A man in his 50s was checked over at hospital after suffering minor injuries but was released a short time later.

The mother of missing Naheed Khan, who is 43, yesterday re-appealed to her daughter to return home safe after she was reported missing.

Naheed, who is from Thornaby, had not been seen by her family for around three weeks prior to her being reported missing on Tuesday 12th June, which is out of character.

Since Naheed’s disappearance, her only daughter has given birth to a baby girl and she has never met her.

Naheed is described as being of Asian appearance, of slim build and around 5ft 6” tall, with long, dark hair and several tattoos, one being ‘Amber’ on her left wrist. She also has a large mole in the centre of her left wrist.

Anyone with information as to Naheed’s whereabouts or anyone who may have seen Naheed since late May onwards, is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101.
