The volunteer crew of the Staithes and Runswick RNLI were called into action in our area yesterday.
Just after 3pm yesterday afternoon the coastguard received a report of 4 people and a dog cut off by the tide in the Boulby area.
The lifeboat located them and put a crew member ashore to assess the casualties.
As a backup, Staithes coastguard set up a rope system at the cliff top with the assistance of Whitby and Redcar Coastguard teams.
All 4 people and the dog were transferred from the shore to the lifeboat and taken to safety at Staithes.
A main road in our area was closed yesterday afternoon after a two-car crash.
Flatts Lane at Normanby was closed after the collision between a Skoda Fabia and a Ford Focus just after 2.30pm.
Police officers, ambulance and fire brigade crews were sent to the scene and one person, believed to be a woman, had to be cut from the Skoda vehicle by firefighters.
The casualty was then taken to hospital in a waiting ambulance.
A man will appear in court after stealing from a vehicle in our area.
The man was arrested by officers from the Guisborough Neighbourhood Policing Team after breaking into the vehicle earlier this week.
He has now been charged with criminal damage and theft from the vehicle and will be appearing in court.
Posting on their Facebook page, officers from the neighbourhood police team say that this is a very positive outcome as they continue to crack down on crime in our area.
