A Guisborough man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a van smashed through the wall of an flat in Stokesley;

Police are appealing for information after a 22-year-old man was robbed after he left a shop in Thorntree;

...and fans of TV personality and former model Katie Price were left disappointed at the weekend after a nightclub appearance was cancelled just hours before she was due on stage.

 

A Guisborough man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a van smashed through the wall of an flat in Stokesley.

The crash happened around 5.30pm on Saturday and destroyed the ground floor flat on the corner of The Garth and Balliol Court.

Emergency services were called to the scene where they found the white Fiat Doblo embedded into the building.

A 26-year-old man from Guisborough was arrested ten minutes later in connection with the incident on wasteland after he left the scene of the collision.

He had broken an ankle in the collision and required treatment from paramedics.

He then failed a breath-test while in the ambulance and was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough where an evidential blood test was obtained as part of the ongoing investigation.

Witnesses to the collision or anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to call North Yorkshire Police on the non-emergency number 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

 

Police are appealing for information after a 22-year-old man was robbed after he left a shop in Thorntree.

The incident occurred on Friday 16th March at 8:30pm on Shelton Court on The Greenway in Thorntree, when the victim was approached from behind and hit round the side of the head with a heavy item.

This resulted in the victim having a broken eye socket and he was treated at James Cook University Hospital. 

The victim also had his money and grey Berghaus jacket taken from him.

Anyone who may have been in the vicinity at that time who may have witnessed anything or know who is responsible are asked to contact PC Chris Lindsey on the non-emergency number 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

 

Fans of TV personality and former model Katie Price were left disappointed at the weekend after a nightclub appearance was cancelled just hours before she was due on stage.

Katie was scheduled to appear at Aruba nightclub in Redcar on Saturday but had to cancel due to commitments with the London Marathon.

Posting on their Facebook page, the nightclub said that they'd had a call from Katie’s agent to say that she had to attend television interviews in the morning before the London Marathon.

They now are looking to reschedule a new date for Katie's appearance at the nightclub.
