Police are appealing for information after an attempted robbery in Dormanstown;

Police are appealing for information after an attempted robbery in Dormanstown.
The incident occurred at 5am on Sunday at the RSK Convenience Store on Staithes Road when a man entered the store and threatened the shopkeeper with an object and attempted to steal money from the till.
The man is described as being a white male, around 5 ft 8” – 5 ft 10” tall and he was wearing a black balaclava, a dark coat, grey tracksuit bottoms and he was carrying a rucksack.
Following the incident, the man fled the shop empty handed and made off on a mountain bike.
The shopkeeper was uninjured.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with information regarding the person responsible is asked to contact DC Andrew Paice from Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Police have arrested four people after two incidents of theft last night.
Officers responded to a report of a burglary on Kirkleatham Lane in Redcar and also an attempted theft from a motor vehicle on Park Court in Dormanstown.
Three men and a woman has been arrested for being in possession of an offensive weapon.
Following the incident four pedal cycles were recovered from an address in Dormanstown, two of which were confirmed to be from the Kirkleatham Lane address.
Police are still trying to establish the owner for one of the bikes.

A property marking event is taking place in Redcar today.
Officers will be at the Redcar Town Police Office on Lord Street today between 11am - 1pm, and will be happy to mark bikes, scooters, phones and tools with your details.
