Police are again appealing for witnesses to a serious assault in Middlesbrough;

MP for Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland Simon Clarke has welcomed Prime Minister Theresa May's commitment that the Government will do everything it can to support the 230 workers at risk of losing their jobs at Cleveland Potash;

Police are again appealing for witnesses to a serious assault in Middlesbrough.

The victim has now been told that he has lost the sight in his eye and may lose his eye completely.

Officers received the report of the man being hit in the face with a glass in TS One on Linthorpe Road at twenty past one in the morning on 23rd December.

Two men were involved in the assault - the first is of slim build, with brown hair and aged between 20-25 years old.

The second is believed to be older – perhaps in his 40’s.

They made off down Southfield Road onto Wilton Street.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

In Prime Ministers Questions yesterday lunchtime, Simon questioned Theresa May about the governments response.

Applications have opened for what are being described as Britains Best Summer jobs.
