The Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Policing Team and the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit have arrested a 26-year-old man and 27-year-old woman on suspicion of possession and intent to supply class A and B drugs.
A search warrant was issued for a house on Outram Street in the Newport area of Middlesbrough, and a large hoard of drugs was found totalling an estimated value of £20,000 along with weapons such as a sword and machete.
The Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland, Councillor Karen King, is supporting the Salvation Army's Christmas Toy Appeal, and urging others to do the same.
Every year the Eston branch of the Salvation Army collects brand new toys from the start of November, and distributes them to families who need them most.
Last year they handed out toys to over 300 children.
The appeal will run up to Christmas, and the distribution day will be held on December 19th, where families can pick the toys they want, and even have it wrapped up with a cup of tea too.
...and today is Armistice Day, and events to commemorate and celebrate the fallen will be taking place across our area.
