A man has being charged with attempted murder after a car crash left a man with two broken legs.

He appeared in court yesterday.

He hit a motorbike with a silver Audi on Sunday evening in Dormanstown.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with broken legs that needed urgent surgery

Another man was arrested but later released under investigation.

Fly-tippers have blocked a South Bank bridge with hundreds of tyres.

Almost four hundred tyres were left on the Teesdale Way path near Dockside Road on Monday.

The council has been working to clear them with almost a hundred being shifted already.

The rest are in a skip ready to be taken away.

The council are reminding people that any rubbish should be disposed of at Dunsdale Recycling Centre rather than illegally dumped.

And more cars have been spotted parking on the beach after numerous warnings from the Coastguard.

The team posted a photo on social media showing three cars parked on Saltburn beach on Sunday.

It comes after six reports of cars getting stuck in the sand over the last few weeks.

In each case the Coastguard was called and cars had to be towed to land by rescue teams.

One car was so far in the sea that waves were washing over the bonnet.
