Another car has had to be rescued after parking on the beach and getting stuck.

Early on Saturday morning, Redcar Coastguard were called after a car became stuck near the Boat Park in Marske.

A Coastguard team advised the owner on how to recover it and was freed after half an hour.

It comes just weeks after two similar incidents where cars became stuck in the rising tide.

Coastal services want to made it very clear that it's not their priority to deal with stranded vehicles.

Tributes have been paid to Saltburn community champion Jackie Taylor MBE who sadly died yesterday.

Jackie was well known in and around Saltburn for her tireless voluntary work with many community groups in the town.

She formed the Saltburn 500 Club to raise funds for projects around the town, and this resulted in projects such as the rebuild of the Saltburn Band Stand, the picnic area on Marine Parade the refurbishment of Saltburn War Memorial, the Christmas Lights and switch on event and the creation of the first ‘In Bloom’ group within the Borough.

Jackie was awarded an MBE and received the Freedom of the Borough of Redcar and Cleveland for her community work.

She died peacefully yesterday morning in Clayton House, Saltburn.

And police are holding a big property marking event in Redcar.

Residents can get a free etching to help keep anything from bicycles to mobile phones out of the hands of criminals.

The etchings not only reunite owners with their property, but also help provide evidence to convict the thief.

The event takes place on Friday at Roseberry Square Library.
