There will be no trains between Redcar and Saltburn from today due to engineering work.

The vital work will upgrade the switches and crossings that allow trains to move from one track to another.

This means there will be no trains from today until the second of August but a bus replacement service is being organised.

Passengers are asked to check the national rail website before travelling and make use of alternative transport.

Police are trying to find the owners of stolen jewellery.

The pieces were found by a member of the public in Eston on Sunday.

The jewellery includes gold necklaces, a charm bracelet, a BOSS men's watch and a silver ring with diamonds and sapphires.

The owners or anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101.

This year's Redcar triathlon is set to be the biggest yet.

So far more than 500 athletes have signed up to Sunday's event.

And this year it's one of the qualifying events for the World Sprint Triathlon Championships later this year.

Competitors will tackle a 750 metre swim, 20 kilometre cycle and a 5 kilometre run around Redcar seafront.
