The Redcar RNLI lifeboat crews were called into operation last night to assist a broken down fishing boat.
The boat had broken down off Saltburn with 2 people and a dog on board.
The Atlantic 85 lifeboat from Redcar was launched at 9 o'clock last night and the broken down boat was then towed to safety at Saltburn.
Motorists experienced long delays after a five-vehicle collision on a major route in our area yesterday morning.
One lane was closed on the A174 westbound carriageway of the Parkway near to the junction with the A19 after the crash shortly before 8am yesterday.
A blue Honda, a white Audi Q3, a black Vauxhall Insignia, a white Vauxhall Corsa and a Peugeot were all involved in the incident.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said that no injuries were reported.
Police are warning the public about a new Snapchat feature, which could be ‘live streaming’ the activities of children and vulnerable people to complete strangers.
The new interactive map feature not only allows users to access videos but shows their whereabouts to their friends. If there are no privacy settings on the account – complete strangers will see the information and the location of where the post was made.
Officers in the cyber-crime team tested the new map feature over a two day period with a normal user account, which had no friends attached to it.
The only videos which were visible were those with poor privacy settings. Videos of young children posted in several locations were seen, including their home address and recreation areas.
Officers are strongly advising Snapchat users to turn the map feature off if they are not happy for strangers to capture their details.
