Redcar are hosting a week of events to mark the sacrifice and dedication of Britain's Armed Forces.

The flag was raised on Monday and week will end on Saturday which is Armed Forces Day.

The High Street will see past, present and future members of the forces united together to remember fallen heroes.

On Saturday morning, a parade will take place in the High Street at twenty past ten.

It will be followed by speeches, hymns, a choir and even a Spitfire to commemorate the Battle of Britain.

40 people have been found to be intoxicated while driving during the first two weeks of a summer drink and drug driving campaign.

437 tests have been carried out across Cleveland and Durham so far since the beginning of June.

Almost 10 per cent of those people tested were driving under the influence.

The campaign aims to raise awareness of the dangers of drink or drug driving, one of the main causes of fatal crashes in the country.

It will run until the end of this month.
