A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash near Guisborough.

The incident happened yesterday on the A171 and involved a motorbike and a Vauxhall.

It took place shortly after noon on Wednesday near to the Cross Keys Pub.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said the biker was taken to A&E with injuries that weren't considered life threatening.

It has been ruled that an Italian man living in Teesside took his own life at Saltburn cliffs.

Marco Menna was found at the top of Huntcliff last month.

He died of multiple fractures to his skull, ribs, spine and pelvis.

His body was recovered after the police received concerned reports of a man on the cliffs.

An inquest into his death heard that he had struggled with his mental health.

The council has agreed to maintain the area's mobile library service after a public consultation.

They're planning on developing it as a support centre for customer advice.

The council also agreed to keep open Loftus library and Roseberry Square library for 31 hours a week instead of the proposed 14 hours.

More options to cut costs include using new technology like electronic book readers.

The new plan is set to save the library almost three hundred thousand pounds a year.
