Two men arrested in connection with an attack in Redcar have been released.

A 45-year-old man was left with serious injuries on his face after the early hours incident.

Station Road was cordoned off by police while they investigated at two o'clock in the morning.

And two men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault.

Now the men have both been released from custody.

Anyone with any information about the assault is asked to call Cleveland Police on non-emergency number 101.

There won't be any trains between Saltburn, Redcar and Middlesbrough on the 28th of April.

Northern Rail guards and driver are staging another 24-hour strike.

They began striking after the future of the guards' jobs became uncertain and more than a month on there has been no progress from company bosses.

Virgin Trains East Coast are also staging a walk out over the 28th and 29th meaning services to and from Darlington won't be in service either.

Saltburn's cliff lift has had been closed once again.

Redcar & Cleveland Council announced yesterday that it will be closed until further notice due to technical difficulties.

The cliff lift had only been open for less than two weeks for the summer season.

The reopening was delayed after an electrical fire on the tramway the day before.

The fire brigade put out the fire and repairs were carried out but it wasn't ready in time for opening.
