A warning has been issued after yet another fire on Eston Hills;

...and there won't be any trains between Saltburn, Redcar and Middlesbrough on the 28th of April.

An elderly man has died after being hit by a motorbike in Eston.

As we reported on Zetland FM, John Truscott, who was 85, was hit by the motorbike on Meadowgate in Eston on the afternoon of Sunday 2nd April.

He died on Wednesday at James Cook University Hospital.

Cleveland Police have renewed their appeal for information on four people seen riding motorbikes in Eston at the time.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on the non-emergency number 101.

 

Meanwhile, a scooter rider has been injured after a crash in Redcar.

It happened at around twenty past one yesterday on Lucerne Road and involved a Lexmoto scooter and a Mercedes.

The 17-year-old rider of the scooter suffered a broken leg and was taken to James Cook Hospital.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Leslie Thompson on non-emergency number 101.

 

A warning has been issued after yet another fire on Eston Hills.

Firefighters were called to the blaze on Wednesday at around 7pm to tackle several fires believed to be deliberate.

Eston Hills is regularly targeted by arsonists much to the despair of firefighters and the Friends of Eston Hills.

It comes as Cleveland Fire Brigade launches a campaign to try and keep arson down over the Easter holidays.

Over Easter last year there were 101 deliberate fires set and 38 of those were across Redcar and Cleveland.

 

There won't be any trains between Saltburn, Redcar and Middlesbrough on the 28th of April.

Northern Rail guards and driver are staging another 24-hour strike.

They began striking after the future of the guards' jobs became uncertain and more than a month on there has been no progress from company bosses.

Virgin Trains East Coast are also staging a walk out over the 28th and 29th meaning services to and from Darlington won't be in service either.

 

Police are releasing CCTV footage of two men they want to speak to in connection with a burglary in New Marske.

The burglary happened at Pontac Road at around four o'clock in the morning on Tuesday.

A white Ford Kuga was stolen along with a ring which holds sentimental value to the victim.
