Redcar and Cleveland Council’s cabinet has agreed to continue with its plans for an 8 million pound investment to rejuvenate the area.
The investment programme is for the whole borough and will improve the town centres of Redcar, Eston, Loftus, Guisborough and Saltburn.
The budget also includes a 250 thousand pound investment to try and improve and promote the areas to tourists.
The plan is designed to balance with the council’s 25.6 million pound budget cuts over the next three years.
The council’s cabinet discussed the plans yesterday.
They will be debated by the council next month when a final decision will be made.
A training and advice session has been organised in Redcar to help people who face redundancy from SSI.
Melissa Major reports.

Hurry Home will be available to buy next month on both download and CD.
