A man has been charged with sexual touching after a video was posted on Facebook of a taxi driver with a teenage girl in a parked taxi in a secluded part of Grangetown.
In the video footage, the man filming demands to know why the taxi driver was sitting in the back of the taxi with a teenage girl.
The video has since been widely shared and viewed across social media.
Police took the man into custody on Wednesday - and after new information charged him yesterday.
The alleged incident happened last Thursday at around 3am on Docklands Road.
The man has since been sacked from his job as a taxi driver and will appear at court in January.
The council are asking residents to donate to Redcar Area Foodbank in the lead up to Christmas.
The foodbank has had an increasing demand since the start of summer and is now urgently looking for more donations for the holiday season.
Treats such as chocolate and biscuits are wanted to help give foodbank users a bit of extra cheer over Christmas and New Year.
They are also asking for new toys to include in food parcels for families.
However they have a high demand for everyday items like fruit and vegetables, meat and tinned food.
The foodbank is based in Dormanstown and offers food to people across Redcar and Cleveland.
The Big Local East Cleveland has successfully secured funding to hold a major British Cycling event right here in East Cleveland.
The inaugural event, taking place on 2nd of April next year will be a prelude to the very successful Tour De Yorkshire which for 2017 does not include our region.
Working with the local councils, the local police and health authorities the route will take in six East Cleveland Villages and was the brainchild of Tourism Officer Jane Barnard.
The Big Local team chose Zetland FM to announce details of the event yesterday evening.
