Police are warning the public not to leave valuables in cars following a spate of thefts from motor vehicles in the Marske and New Marske area in recent days.
Although the vehicles were secure the thieves have smashed the windows of a number of vehicles to gain entry.
Items which have been stolen include a laptop computer and other high value items.
In a post on Facebook, officers from Redcar Neighbourhood Policing Team say are working hard to identify and arrest those responsible.
They are advising the public to make sure that valuables are not left in vehicles overnight.
Middlesbrough's busy Cargo Fleet Lane will be reduced to a single lane this weekend due to ongoing improvement works.
Northern Powergrid will be diverting a number of high and low voltage electrical cables in the vicinity of the junction with Cranmore Road.
The works began last weekend but difficult ground conditions and adverse weather meant they could not be completed.
As before, the works will require the reduction of Cargo Fleet Lane to a single lane on both Saturday and Sunday for safety reasons, with the junction with Cranmore Road controlled by three-way temporary traffic signals.
Pallister Avenue will be closed at its junction with Cargo Fleet Lane on both days. The bus stop on Cargo Fleet Lane immediately to the north of its junction with Cranmore Road will be suspended whilst the temporary traffic management arrangements are in place.
Tomorrow is Remembrance Sunday and there are services taking place in towns and villages across the Redcar and Cleveland area.
