A round up of Local News in Redcar and Cleveland for Thursday 8th September 2016

Police have issued an appeal to trace a stolen parrot which was taken from an address in Middlesbrough.

The burglars entered through an insecure door of an address on Mulgrave Road and took the African Grey parrot at around 6.15pm on Monday 6th September.

The parrot, a female called Pinky, is around 16 years old and is a treasured family pet.

It is described as a grey parrot with white patches around the eyes and to the top if its beak, and it has red tail feathers.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Laura Kelly on the non-emergency number 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Businesses in Redcar’s Town Centre are being encouraged to take part in a short online survey to help the council better understand how businesses are operating.

The results of the survey will be used to inform the Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council Local Plan, a document that sets out the proposed long-term strategy for the borough.

A number of different surveys have also been carried out over the past few weeks, including on-street shopper surveys, household telephone surveys and a survey of local businesses.

The responses will be treated in the strictest confidence and compiled into a final report.

Details of the survey can be found on the Redcar and Cleveland Council website.

The deadline for completing the survey is Friday 16 September 2016.
