A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the sudden death of a woman in Hemlington at the weekend.

Officers were called to a house on Farthingale Way on Friday evening following reports that the 42-year-old woman was unresponsive.

Detectives are working to establish the events surrounding the woman’s death, however police say at this stage the death is being treated as suspicious.

Post-mortem results show that the woman died as a result of a head injury.

A 73-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and has been released on bail as police continue their enquiries.

Forensic officers and detectives have been working at the scene, and support is being provided to the woman’s family.

Police are appealing for the publics help to trace a vulnerable woman who is missing from our area.

Pat Kettlewell from Lingdale has been missing from her home since around 8am on Saturday morning.

She is described as vulnerable and it is out-of-character for her to not contact her family.

Pat was wearing a blue coat with small figures on, and jeans. She is white, 5ft 2" tall, with dark brown hair.

Pat walks with a stick and may have a bandaged right hand.

Anyone with information on Pat's whereabouts is asked to call Cleveland Police on 101.

A local MP has called a public meeting to create a “vision” for the future of Redcar High Street.

The meeting, which also aims to get the town “back on its feet” will be held at Coatham Memorial Hall from 4-6pm on Friday, September 2nd.

In a leaflet advertising the meeting Anna says she plans to bring together councillors, council officials and members of the public to hear the vision for our town and build a plan to get the town back on its feet.

Anna says that so far, the idea of the meeting has been positively received.

It is hoped that as many people as possible will attend the meeting in order to air their views.
