All three Teesside League Redcar sides suffered defeat at the weekend, with two suffering cup exits.

Redcar Athletic are through to the last eight of the Raine Trophy despite going behind to Guisborough Globe before winning 2-1 with two second half goals, Nathan Calvert gave the Globe a first half lead, but Kyran Clark pulled it back to 1-1 in the 5th minute and Richard Farrier scored what turned out to be the winner with ten minutes remaining.

Four of the seven teams competing in the North Riding Challenge cup bowed out, Redcar Town who won the Second Division October Team of the Month Award, lost 2-1 away to fellow second division side Staithes Athletic, St Mary’s College won 6-0 away to Brooklyn, Cargo Fleet AFC won 7-3 away to Cayton Corinthians while Boro Rangers thrashed Askrigg 16-0, Loftus Athletic drew 2-2 away to University of York, but lost 5-3 on penalties and Kader who entertained Edgehill from Scarborough, drew 1-1, but lost 5-4 on penalties.

Yarm progressed to the second round of the Second Division Burness Plate after an extra time victory against Redcar Athletic, who scored first through Kyran Clark, Jack Dalton scored in the second half to send it into extra time and Dalton then scored a further three time to make it a final score of 4-1.

Grangetown Boys Club remain top of the first division after they beat New Marske 2-0 in a tight scrappy game, Dec Morrison scored in the first half and Ryan Emmerson scored in the second, Whinney Banks YCC who remain the only unbeaten team throughout the league after they won 8-2 at Redcar Newmarket, Danny Lockwood scored a half trick to make it twenty-four for the season, Scot Chaplin scored a hat trick with Jordon Wilson and Michael Shellard also on target, Thirsk Falcons move up to third place after an emphatic 14-0 victory over North Ormesby, Gareth Barber scored four time, Joe Boynton scored a hat trick, Tom James a brace, but Liam Cook scored five times, Northallerton Town move up to seventh after a hard fought 2-1 victory over Fishburn Park, Northallerton went ahead through Nathan Hemingway, Jake Faichney pulled it back to 1-1 in the second half, but Ben Darville scored the winner with twenty minutes remaining, BEADS FC had James Allen sent off after half an hour when they entertained Richmond Mavericks but neither side could find a goal and the game finished at 0-0, Thornaby Dubliners who won the 1st Division October Team of the Month, took an early lead against visitors Great Ayton United through Dimitri Kehi, Mark Shinwell pulled it back to 1-1 and Ashley Woodier broke clear to give Ayton a 2-1 lead ten minute later with Isaak White making it 3-1 with a cracking shot to make it 3-1 at half time.

In the only second division game, Billingham Synthonia won only their third match of the season when they travelled to Darlington and beat Middleton Rangers 5-4 with James Ascough scoring a hat trick, Ashley Lavan and Andrew Davies also on target, Kamil Kuleszo, Belio Paun and Rafal Kochanski with a brace replied for Middleton Rangers.

Both teams who were competing in the Durham Trophy out by the same close score of 4-3, Billingham FC lost away to Murton AFC and Stockton West End lost out a way to Spennymoor Town Reserves.
